Lyrics

7) THE LITTLE TREE THAT COULD
News of the day was my albatross,
So I went to the park to walk it all off.
There she was sittin’ under a tree,
A tree with flowers smiling at me.

I said hi and summer went by,
The park and the tree, that gal and me.
Fall came; red apples fell,
We both turned red, and I won’t tell.

Chorus:
The little tree that could,
Could make a flower, could make a spoon,
Could make a love in the light of the moon,
The little tree that could.

Tree grew old and park said whoa,
Robins will miss their home, I know.
The tree became wood, summer sunshine,
I’ll carve some love, yours and mine.

(Chorus)

So I carved us a bowl and I carved a spoon,
Looked pretty good so I carved us two.
A young sprout came, that spoon and bowl,
Became a drum for rock and roll.

(Chorus)
